Globally, 1.6 billion people currently live in substandard shelter and the UN projects that by 2050, 70 percent of the world’s population will be living in urban areas, many of them in substandard conditions. Habitat for Humanity Zambia (HFHZ) is part of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), a worldwide non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry, which was founded in 197 and focused on eliminating poverty housing by providing simple, decent houses for families in need, and to make shelter a matter of conscience and action. The mission statement of Habitat for Humanity is "Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

FY 14 PROSPECTIVE
To date, we have served with housing a total of 2,613 families in Zambia under our housing microfinance and Pamwesu OVC projects. These projects are implemented in Lusaka, Central, Copperbelt and Western Provinces
